Kex
Kex is a robot that, through a software malfunction, has become self-aware. He was created as part of a mass-production of robots for delivering cargo through the ruins between human cities.
Kex is a very curious robot, he loves to learn new things and spends most of its time outside human cities, well within ruined structures. They've met other sparked robots and visits them every now and then.
Meta
Kex's world is very different from the one Nero and N live in (which is my main world).
In it, most of humanity has become complacent and congregated in incredibly dense cities where robots do most of the work for humans. Between these cities are ruins of man-made structures that haven't been maintained in years. Robots like Kex are fabricated to deliver stuff between these cities and through the ruins, since they're potentially dangerous.
Sparked robots are robots that gain sentience. This is a known issue in the manufacturing process but resources are so abundant and skilled workforce so hard to come by that fixing it isn't considered a priority.
